About UMAS
UMAS (University of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences) was established by Government Resolution No. 214 of 2024 as a graduate research university offering master's and doctoral programs. Its first academic year opened on September 23, 2025.
UMAS's defining feature is that it has no separate campus of its own — teaching is delivered inside the Mongolian Academy of Sciences' own research institutes and laboratories. Every student joins a real research project, works in a lab under a scientist-supervisor, takes research-based coursework, and is trained to write academic papers as part of their studies.
